Is Telehealth as effective as in person?
For evidence based therapies (ex. CBT, EMDR), telehealth is generally comparable in efficacy to in person treatment. (JMIR Mental Health, NCBI).
Research consistently shows that EMDR delivered via telehealth is essentially as effective as EMDR delivered in person. Studies find comparable reductions in PTSD, anxiety, and depression, with similar treatment completion rates and therapeutic alliance across both formats. (NIH, PubMed).
